چکیده

An approach to handle the complex dynamics of a multi-agent system is based on distinguishing aggregation levels by structuring the system into parts or components. The behavior of every aggregation level is specified by a set of dynamic properties for components and interactions at that level, expressed in some (temporal) language. The dynamic properties of higher aggregation levels in principle can be logically related to dynamic properties of lower levels. This asks for identification and verification of such interlevel relations. In this article it is shown how this problem can be addressed using model checking techniques. 1

Verifying Interlevel Relations within Multi-Agent Systems: formal theoretical basis

In the general case, at any aggregation level a behavioral specification for a multi-agent system component consists of dynamic properties expressed by complex temporal relations in TTL, which therefore does not allow direct application of automatic verification procedures, more specifically, model checking techniques, used in this paper. In order to apply model checking techniques it is needed...

Specification of Interlevel Relations for Agent Models in Multiple Abstraction Dimensions

Multiagent systems for a certain application area can be modelled at multiple levels of abstraction. Interlevel relations are a means to relate models from different abstraction levels. Three dimensions of abstraction often occurring are the process abstraction, temporal abstraction, and agent cluster abstraction dimension. In this paper a unifying formalisation is presented that can be used as...

Verifying Multi-Agent Knowledge-Based Systems using COVERAGE

Anomaly detection, as performed by the COVER tool, has proven to be a useful method for verification of knowledge-based systems. The increasing development of distributed knowledge-based systems based upon the multi-agent architecture demands techniques for the verification of these systems. This paper describes the COVERAGE too1 -an extension of COVER designed to perform anomaly detection on m...

Will Concurrency Theory Help Verifying Multi-agent Systems? { a Case Study {

The veriication of multi agent systems is an important and diicult task. Though much work is spent on veriication in concurrency theory only few results and tools are used in multi-agent systems. In this paper, we investigate how CCS, the calculus for concurrent systems, may contribute to the veriication of multi-agent systems. We review an architecture for a diagnosis agent and show how the to...
